Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar
A rooftop in an old bank building, designed as the neighbourhood living room.

Gigi Rooftop opened in 2019 on the sixth floor of Gorgeous George.
And the story starts before you even reach the rooftop.
The hotel combines two neighbouring historic buildings, one of which was once a bank. Above that older city fabric, designer Tristan du Plessis created a glassy indoor-outdoor space filled with plants and a pool.
But Gigi was never intended only for hotel guests.
The idea was to create a “neighbourhood living room”, a place where people could come for food, drinks or simply spend time without staying at the hotel.
That detail matters in Cape Town, where hotel spaces can sometimes feel disconnected from everyday city life.
So Gigi is more interesting than just another rooftop. It is a contemporary public layer added on top of an older piece of the city.
In short: 🏦 Former bank building · 🏙️ Sixth-floor rooftop · 🌿 Indoor-outdoor space · 🏊 Pool · 🛋️ Neighbourhood-living-room idea · 📍 Gorgeous George
