Delaire Graff Estate

Delaire was established back in the 1980s, but its real new chapter began in 2003, when British jeweller Laurence Graff discovered it.

He drove up Helshoogte Pass, saw the panorama of the Banghoek Valley, and almost immediately decided to acquire the estate.

Before him, the property already had a connection to wine: it was founded by wine critics John and Erica Platter, who named it Delaire, meaning “from above, from a bird’s-eye view.”

But Graff decided to create more than just a winery here. Over the years, the estate evolved into a combination of wine, art, architecture, restaurants, gardens, and hospitality.

Today, more than 400 artworks and sculptures from Laurence Graff’s personal collection are scattered throughout the estate.
