Cape Point Vineyards
A winery where the peninsula’s ocean climate ends up in the glass.

Cape Point Vineyards was founded by Sybrand van der Spuy in 1996, with the first modern vines planted the following year.
The location is unusual for a winery: Noordhoek, almost within Cape Town, beside Table Mountain National Park and exposed to the oceanic influence of the peninsula.
Cool maritime air, granite soils and the slopes helped the estate become especially known for Sauvignon Blanc and blends with Semillon.
That is why it is worth looking beyond the popular picnic lawn and sunset views.
The real story of Cape Point Vineyards is not an unbroken centuries-old estate. The modern project only began in the late 20th century and effectively proved that this part of the peninsula could produce wine with a distinctly maritime character.
So the glass here feels like a continuation of the landscape outside.
In short: 🍷 Winery since 1996 · 🌊 Maritime climate · 🍇 Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon · 🪨 Granite soils · 🌿 Beside Table Mountain National Park · 🌅 Picnics and sunsets
