Boschendal

The first owner was Jean le Long, followed by Nicolas de Lanoy, who planted the first grapevines here. Later, the estate was managed by the de Villiers family for more than a century.

It was during this period that the famous Cape Dutch manor was built, which is now considered a national heritage monument. But Boschendal was more than just a winery. The estate also developed fruit farming, survived the phylloxera epidemic, and went through several major changes in agriculture.

In 1976, the estate began a process of revival, preserving its historic heritage while transforming it into a modern destination for wine, food, and leisure.
